  • I love the Ju-On/Grudge franchise, and it makes me so sad to see it die a slow, painful death with each subsequent film being worse than the last. 😩☹ Oh well, at least we have the originals.

  • If you read the description Elvis states his favorite is when the lady burns the house down with the ghost in it. I disagree #525 is best because it just cut out all horror and became a comedy.

  • 2:20 bruh the ring is a great movie wtf you talking about it has a 7.1/10 on imbd and a 71% on rotten tomatoes the ring is scary af and great! dont hate on the ring. i agree with u that the grudge 2020 is bad but dont be hating on the ring. and hereditary is not a good movie lmao idk what ur talking about it was depressing and weird and not even scary at all and the grudge 2004 did not show her dying at the end it just shows the grudges eye and then cuts off but she is in grudge 2 so she did not die!!! it was just the movie way of doing a quick jumpscare at the end. but the 2020 grudge we actually hear her dying and then its really quiet at the end so we know she died stop saying this pile of shit movie is the same as the grudge 2004 its not the same at all the 2020 one is trash and the 2004 one is great

  • I still like ghost movies and i think they are scary when they are done right but this one was trash

  • The 2004 grudge ghosts were creppy specially kayako if you encounter something like that in real life you probably shit your pants common be real you would be scared too I'm talking about the good grudge movies the Japanese ones and the 2004 the other ones are shit i give you that

  • I have an idea... lets start BEGGING Hollywood to remake all of our favorite movies. That's the only way we know they won't do it. You know these geniuses tend to do the exact opposite of what the people want. And yet they somehow continue to make money because people still go see their stupid shit. God damnit. Can you really blame them for continuing making these shit remakes? I mean... I'm not even against remakes entirely. Some remakes I prefer to the originals. Like, The Hills Have Eyes remake was WAY better than the original. Same with Dawn Of The Dead (I know people will want to kill me for that one lol), The Longest Yard, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (I love the OG too, it's just a bit dated for me now days), Last House On The Left (OG was SUPER dated), and I even love the Friday The 13th remake from 2009. I think that was easily the best Jason Voorhees we have gotten and the kills were awesome. None of the rest matters in any of the Friday movies, lol! Anyways, the vast majority of the remakes suck ass. So lets beg Hollywood to remake our most beloved movies to ensure that they won't. Now we're getting The Exorcist remake in 2021... let that sink in. Fuck me...

  • Hereditary sucked. There is my controversial opinion. That movie bored the hell out of me aside from a couple of decent moments. The ending was SO dumb. Original?? I guess, somewhat. But just because something is original doesn't mean it's good. That ending pissed me off so much because I felt like based on so many great reviews that it MUST be building up to something great. But nope... snoozfest to the end. Anyways, I agree that I'm soooo sick of these reboots and remakes. It's one thing if a good movie is just dated and could use and update, so long as they do it right. But the Grudge was stupid from the get go, but I could understand the appeal. But the original American version was made in 2004... lol! Only 16 years removed from the first movie they did this. Ridiculous.

  • I really “liked” what they did with the shower scene. In the original the hand on girl’s hair looked like it could have come up from the bottom, like if a ghost was behind her, and in the new one it just comes out of the character’s head?! Wtf?! That’s not how it works lol It was supposed to be a play on people being scared to close their eyes in the shower, and how sometimes we get startled by our own hand, but here she actually felt someone else’s hand in her hair. But here a hand just flops out of character’s scull for a cheap jumpscare.

Dunno what he ate, but it was fun to pick that up at the park" "Have a good night in our guest room. Just keep the door closed, or Kevin will jump in the bed with you. He just wants to sleep with people. "WHAT THE FUCK" "Oh, Kevin's our dog" (apparently that happened to someone while using AIRBNB)

  • 8:33 - Wait, SERIOUSLY?? LMAO!! How lazy and/or desperate to wrap up on time/within budget - or WHATEVER lame fucking excuse the director thinks he can pass off as a "reason" - do you hafta be to actually resort to ripping off YOURSELF??? And DON'T presume to tell me that's meant to be some sort of "inside-joke reference" or whatever, 'cuz - even if that's really the intent, it's cringey and retarded at best, and at worst it's REALLY conceitedly self-aggrandizing. Also retarded. No matter what, there's no escaping this being retarded... I knew this director had clearly run out of fucks to give a long, LONG time ago, but fuck me, I didn't think it was gettin' so bad for him to make a movie that he could've literally spent half the shoot ASLEEP on the set and still wound up with the same fucking "end product"...

Like those are pretty smart animals as animals go, so you gotta respect then by not giving a name that sounds like a joke. Az least that's how I feel but I'm also against giving ridiculous nicknames to human friends or family so maybe I'm just too much of a square.

  • The main reason why this film didn't work is because it's NOT actually a horror. Sure, it's dressed like a horror with creepy imagery and jump scares, but it's built like a thriller. We have investigators digging in the mosaic events which led to that point. However, it doesn't work as a thriller either as the key of a good thriller is to have suspense and mystery and we know who is the culprit from the first frame. Unfortunately, this fails both as a horror and as a thriller.

  • Let’s be real no americanized version was good. The American “The ring” was horrible as well. I can’t be the only one, I loved the first original ones, the sequels even Japanese are, well ...basically more of the same so it loses the intrigue and suspense with every sequel. Also why do the American version if you are not going to introduce anything new, most of the viewers or at least those who are interested in horror genre already saw the Japanese one and their sequels so why see the same but whit white actors, I just don’t get it. The boring sequels at least are new material the American version is just a white wash that change absolutely nothing.

That is an insanely high bar to reach, and in addition to this, I would NOT want every horror movie (or every movie in general) to be like the lighthouse or the vvitch. There are tons of good slow paced movies with "show don't tell" written all over it, but not EVERY movie needs to be like that. This isn't in defense of this movie, though

I felt like the 2004 movie was "the best" at combining the best elements from both films together but the addition of the American actors just made it feel inauthentic.

  • The original Ju on: The Grudge movie is as close to a perfect horror movie you can get. American remakes never sit well with me, usually cause i know at best its a cheap knock off, but past that, the original movie is great. I'd put it next to The Exorcist or the first Halloween. While Halloween is my fav horror movie, I prefer Japanese and now Korean horror movies overall. Mostly because of how copy paste or cheap every American horror movie is now. I see this movie as the perfect representation for modern horror movies. Maybe i hate movies like these more cause i rewatched and watched a bunch of classic horror movies this year.I remember seeing the trailer for this movie and instantly thinking it was gonna be a terrible shitty remake
